The issues before us are grave and alarming.
We now live in a society where houses are being foreclosed upon with little and sometimes no paperwork verifying the legitimacy of such seizures and are then left to rot by unscrupulous businessmen who either do not know or do not care to know that they are destroying the sense of community and aesthetic value of our neighborhoods.
National, state, and local governments defer to lobbyists and high-level executives of biotechnology companies to direct the trajectory of food production, regulation, and legislation as it suits their profit margins.
Oil and so-called ‘natural gas’ companies can destroy the environment deliberately or out of negligence, face no criminal charges, and only minimal fines.
I am the only candidate with a record of deliberately standing against special interests. In my work as the Deputy Chief of the Complex and Special Litigation Division of the Criminal Branch I have cases pending against large corporate banks for failing to maintain their vacant foreclosure properties spreading blight and nuisances in our neighborhoods; against insurance companies for illegal rescission targeting women (especially women of color) with breast cancer and other costly diagnoses; and against billboard companies for illegal billboards and supergraphics.
I am the candidate best qualified to assist in decision making on issues the Council is likely to encounter during this next cycle because I have a proven track record of standing up for the residents on these issues. Those issues include:

- 2 – Traffic and Bicycle Infrastructure
- 3 – Community Care Facilities
- 4 – LAX Expansion
- 5 – Development/Land Use
